Moisture in the masonry dissolves salts which, when evaporating, form crystals on the surface and expand the capillaries. The result is excessive moisture, which leads to nitric and nitrate efflorescence - recognizable as white edges and mold-like, white fluff on the surface. These are the first signs of imminent danger of deterioration.

Simply spray on the affected areas, leave to work for a short time and wash off. This should be followed by a treatment with our saltpeter protection "Compakt - Primer LF" in order to regulate the moisture management and prevent efflorescence in the long term and to make the masonry solid and stable again.
